Viral Magic Shell Smoothie Bowl

The viral Magic Shell Smoothie Bowl is definitely worth the hype! It makes for the perfect breakfast, especially when you are looking for a quick & simple dish for those busy mornings!

Cook Time 5 minutes
Servings 1

Ingredients

Smoothie Bowl

  • 1 cup frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup fairlife ultrafiltered partly skimmed milk
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp almond butter or peanut butter

Magic Shell

  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp coconut oil

Toppings

  • 2 tbsp crushed pecans
  • sea salt

Instructions

  • In a blender, combine fairlife 1% ultrafiltered partly skimmed milk, frozen bananas, maple syrup and peanut butter. Blend until smooth.
  • Add mixture to a small bowl and add to freezer for 5-8 minutes. In a microwavable safe bowl, add chocolate chips and coconut oil. Add to microwave for 20-30 seconds until chocolate chips are melted. Add melted chocolate over the top of the smoothie mixture and let sit in the freezer for 10-12 minutes, until the chocolate is hardened. Add toppings and enjoy!

Hot Honey

This hot honey will quickly become a pantry staple! Add it to avocado toast, summer salads or pasta salads, eggs- you name it!
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Servings 4

Ingredients

  • 2 cups honey
  • 2 tbsp chili flakes
  • 1 red chili chopped
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  • Add honey to a small pot. Heat over low-medium heat. Add in chili flakes and chopped chilis. Stir together. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add in apple cider vinegar. Mix together. Let hot honey come to room temperature.
  • Add hot honey to a glass jar and store for 1 day before using. Enjoy! 

Notes

Enjoy this with avocado toast, add it to your favorite salad or pasta salad! It will be a hit this summer!

Hot Honey Halloumi Toast

This Spring / Summer Appetizer will be perfect for backyard bbqs!
Course Appetizer, Side Dish, Snack
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Servings 4

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, sliced
  • 1 package halloumi cheese, sliced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tsp rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 handful arugula
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice the baguette and add to the baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and bake for 15-18 minutes until toasted.
  • Slice the halloumi and add to a baking dish. Combine olive oil, honey, chili flakes and rice wine vinegar. Mix together. Pour over Halloumi.
  • Heat a nonstick saucepan and add halloumi to the pan. Cook for 6-8 minutes per side until cheese becomes soft and golden brown. 4. Remove the baguette from the oven and top with arugula and halloumi cheese. Finish with black pepper and balsamic glaze. Serve and enjoy!

Let’s Talk about Pancakes 

Pancakes are my and my fiancé’s favorite sweet brunch to make together, and when making them with Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake Mix, making pancakes got a lot easier! Especially since cooking with Krusteaz makes the experience quick and easy- since all you have to do is add water! I like to cook the Nutella Stuffed pancakes for 75 seconds (yes, to the second), and you have perfectly golden-brown pancakes every time! Krusteaz is delicious and made with quality ingredients, no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives, which means you have the confidence that you’re feeding your family well! Are you ready to try the Nutella Stuffed Pancakes yet?!

Nutella Stuffed Pancakes

Nutella Stuffed Pancakes 

Have you ever had stuffed Nutella pancakes before? While some may think this recipe is tricky- it’s relatively easy and will quickly become your new go-to pancake recipe! The trick is to freeze the Nutella into ‘disc’ shapes for 25-30 minutes. I add about 1-2 tbsp of Nutella to a lined baking sheet and use the back of a spoon to create discs and then freeze!

If you don’t want to freeze the Nutella- that is also an option! Instead, you can add the Nutella to a Ziplock or piping bag. Rather than add the frozen disc of Nutella to the pancakes- you would squeeze in about 1 tbsp of Nutella onto the pancakes while it is cooking on the skillet. This method will also make you stuffed pancakes; however, I have found the Frozen Nutella route easier! Have you tried the frozen Nutella disc method before? Let me know in the comments!

How to Make Stuffed Nutella Krusteaz Pancakes 

Let’s chat about the ingredients you’ll need to make the pancakes, and you don’t need many! All you need is:

  • Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake Mix
  • Water
  • Nutella
  • Butter
  • Optional toppings: sliced blueberries or any fruit of choice and whipped cream

To make the Krusteaz stuffed pancakes is super easy! All you have to do is:

  • Combine the Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake Mix and water to create the pancake batter
  • Add Nutella to a lined baking sheet and create ‘disc’ shapes.
  • Freeze Nutella for 25-30 minutes
  • Add the batter to the center of a heated skillet and add the Nutella disc on top. Add a bit more batter to cover the disc.
  • Cook pancakes for 75 seconds per side
  • Plate and enjoy with toppings of choice! I love to top mine with blueberries, but feel free to add any fruit of choice!

Breakfast Egg Sandwich Hack

Ingredients

  • 4 slices Stonemill Bakehouse Authentic Sourdough Rye Multigrain
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • salt & pepper

Instructions

  • Heat a large saucepan over med-high heat. Add 1 tsp butter and once it is melted cook bacon. Once bacon is cooked, set aside on a plate that is lined with paper towel.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together 2 eggs and add salt & pepper. Set aside.
  • Heat large saucepan over med-high heat and add 1 tsp butter. Add in eggs (as if you were going to make an omelette) and let sit for 2-3 minutes. Once eggs are partially cooked, add 2 slices of Stonemill Bakehouse Authentic Sourdough Rye Multigrain. Once eggs are cooked, carefully flip over the bread and eggs – making sure everything is intact.
  • Add 2 slices of cheddar, ½ avocado, 3 slices of bacon in the centre of one slice of bread. Carefully fold over the other slice of bread to form a sandwich. Let sit for 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted.
  • Once sandwich is cooked, transfer it to a cutting board and cut in half. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Bars Recipe

During these unprecedented times, one of the things that make me happiest is when I’m in the kitchen. To me, the kitchen is a safe space where I am able to escape the news and just focus on myself and love for food! In all seriousness, I’ve been cooking and baking so much that I am starting to think I’m the next at home ‘master chef’. Soon you will agree- just wait until you try my Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Bars made with California strawberries.

One of the things that I’ve been able to focus on a lot while at home is curating healthy recipes that my entire family enjoys! Whenever I am working on a recipe, it is always important for me that I am using nutritious ingredients. This is why I am very excited to highlight my newest recipe, Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Bars made with California strawberries. 

My favourite meal of the day has always been breakfast and now after making (and eating the full batch) of my Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Bars, I have been able to start my day on a healthy, delicious and positive note! One of the main reasons why I love starting my day with California strawberries is because strawberries are an excellent source of Vitamin C and a source of fibre. Fun fact, strawberries have the same amount of Vitamin C as oranges do. Who knew?! Growing up, strawberries were always a staple food item in my household. Not only because they were great to bake and cook with, but also because they made a tasty snack! Actually, snacking on 8 California strawberries a day is equivalent to one serving and is 50 calories.

Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Bars Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of California strawberries, diced very small 
  • 1 cup of oats
  • 3/4 cup of whole-wheat flour (or almond flour)
  • 1/3 cup of brown sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • 1 tsp. of cinnamon
  • 6 tbsp. of unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp. of cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp. of chocolate chips

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 350F Degrees. Line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper. Make sure to spray the parchment paper with cooking spray.

2. In a medium size bowl, mix together oats, flour, cinnamon and brown sugar. Pour in the melted butter (I microwaved the butter for 30 seconds to melt it). Stir the mixture together until it forms clumps. Set aside 1/2 cup of the crust mixture.

3. Press the mixture evenly onto the bottom of the prepared pan. (I use the back of a measuring cup to press down the mixture to make sure it is spread out evenly).

4. Place half of the diced California strawberries on top of the crust; evenly spread them so they cover the crust. Sprinkle the cornstarch on top of the strawberries. Add the other half of the California strawberries on top and make sure to fill in any empty spots. Add 1 tbsp. of brown sugar on top of the strawberries.

5. Add the 1/2 cup of the reserved crust (step 2) on top of the strawberries and add the chocolate chips on top.

6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the bars look golden. Once baked, let them cool for 15-20 minutes before serving.

7. Serve and enjoy!

My Quick & Easy Breakfast Smoothie Recipe

If you have been following @Everything_Delish for quite some time now, you are aware that I am a relatively healthy person who loves to indulge in nutritiously delicious food! With that being said, I am always on the go and sometimes it is hard to find a healthy breakfast that has some nutritional value. This is why I have a smoothie for breakfast almost everyday, as I find that it keeps me full for majority of the morning. I am always creating different variations and recipes of smoothies, but right now this one that I am sharing with you is my favorite! Keep reading below for my Quick & Easy Breakfast Smoothie Recipe.

 

Quick & Easy Breakfast Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop of Whey Protein Powder (I used Vanilla flavor)
  • 1/2 cup of Frozen Mixed Berries
  • 1 tbsp. of Nut Butter (I used Almond Butter)
  • 1 Cup of Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 1 handful of Spinach
  • 1/4 cup of Frozen Avocado
  • Dash of cinnamon + stevia to sweeten

Directions:

  • Put all ingredients in a blender and blend on high for 45 seconds. If the shake comes out too thick than add a bit of water to the mixture!
